12.1.2.11 upgrade and restart oda_base can result in an IB interface startup failure causing the GI

ODAVM: Upgrading to12.1.2.11/12 After the oda_base Startup the GI Startup Fails on Both Nodes Due to IB Failure (Doc ID 2300740.1)

  • Requires ODA X6-2HA or X5-2 using the infiniband interconnect ( IB )
  • Requires using ODAVP aka ODA Virtualized Platform

After the 12.1.2.11 server update the oda_base reboots but the GI startup fails after the oda_base bootup

It is showing an interconnection issue and the related interconnection IP address on oda_base XXX.XXX.XX.27/28 is not pingable.

Unable to bring up the IB interface at oda_base

# ibstat

Will not return anything
