how to update an attribute (UDA) by using a stored procedure (standard API)

Hi there,

we are looking for a standard way to update an attribute (UDA).

Is there any OOTB (Out Of The Box) API (Stored produre) which could be invoked?

In Particular we would like to update EGO_MTL_SY_ITEMS_EXT_B  table by invoking the  package,

in case of no OOTB API available, is there any reccomended or already defined custom way do to this?
