fmputlhp set with no suid bit

Hi all,

i am tasked with checking if fmputlhp could run without the setuid bit.

i have found very little information about what it does and what it is used for.

i checked Doc ID 394855.1 & 1493121.1 but it only tells me that is should be set and that it spawns a fmon proces.

but on my machines i have no fmon proces and the HP-UX admin like to remove the s bits from it.

Can anyone tell me what it is used for (other then the text in mentioned docs)

and what happens if you remove the s-bit from the file?

Howdy, Stranger!
