Incorrect currency conversion date when "Use Last Rate" currency conversion rule

Is it intended functionality when using the currency conversion rules "Use Last Date" the rate is updated in the journal but the conversion date is not updated? We would like the conversion date to reflect the date of the rate used in the journal.
