COGS and Revenue recognition dates

Hi, For the Revenue and COGS recognition programs, what is the GL date does system consider. For our customer, we have the Invoice created on 30th Jun,2017 but the revenue  and cogs program ran on 1st July,2017 The GL date got recorded as 1st July .
