Change the Period Start/End Date of a Payroll

Hi Team, we're mass terminating employees in a New Payroll and i've noticed that there was an incorrect setup for the Payroll's Period Start/End Date.

The Minimum Date of the Termination is from 2014, while the Payroll's earliest Period Start/End Date is 2017.

How can we update this field if the field First Period End Date is Grayed out? What API Can we use? and what are the possible impacts it may cause?
