Using Class of Secure Transport (COST) to Restrict Instance Registration (Doc ID 1453883.1)

Hello All,

I have Oracle 12.1.0.2 Enterprise version DB installed on my machine. One of my customer reported oracle TNS poisoning issue and recommended to follow as defined in Doc ID 1453883.1.

My question is,

Can we avoid the issue by just applying "VALID_NODE_CHECKING_REGISTRATION_#LISTENER_NAME#=local" in listener file in Oracle 12.1.0.2 or Do we need to set SECURE_REGISTER_#LISTENER_NAME#=TCP/IPC and local_listener parameter too?
