Pick Confirmation Required

What is the effect of enabling/disabling this flag in the Organization Parameters screen?

The user guide says enable this if you want the pickers to manually pick confirm else the pick confirmation happens automatically but this is not very clear .We have some plants where this flag is checked and some where it is not and have not seen any noticeable difference in the behavior .We run pick release, move orders are generated and automatically allocated .Pickers then manually transact these move orders in both the instances so not seeing any difference .
