OOXML Template Migration Program create XLSX file

We have the profile option FRM: Enable OOXML Standard set to yes. Using a set of scripts provided by support, I copied a template created with OOXML=NO from one environment to the environment with OOXML=Yes. Initially, in XML Administrator, I had a file JVS_630_-_consolidating_BS_XLS with an XDO_FILE_TYPE of XLS.

I ran the program Template Migration to migrate the template to OOXML. After the migration, now I have two files:

JVS_630_-_consolidating_BS_XLS

JVS_630_-_consolidating_BS_XLSX

It looks like the XLSX file was created with the template migration.

Should the XLS file be end dated? Why do I have two files now?
