AME for Journal

We have a requirement to use AME for Journal approvals only on specific days for a given month. its like journals created on specific days should go for approval and journals created for other days during the month should get approved as soon as preparer submits those journals for approval. now when we set journal: allow preparer to approve profile to yes, then it starts getting approved and doesnt add approver on those days as well when we want approvers to be added and if we set this profile to No, the workflow goes into no approver found for the
