Outcomes on Independent Condition for Service Contract Renewals

To set up the independent conditions for auto renewals, we have to selection the outcomes. Below are the 2 options that can be picked up.What is the difference between the two. What does it depend on?

My understanding is that the 'Contract Renewals' can renew into same duration as the original contract. However, 'Service Contracts Renewal Outcome' can only renew into a specific duration as defined in the parameters.

Contract Renewal

Service Contracts Renewal Outcome
