Need confirmation on using shared application filesystem for external node using reverse proxy/Junip

As part of our E-Business 11.5.10.2 to 12/2/5 upgrade, we are implementing the shared application filesystem and are planning to use it for our external node due to the login method through Juniper and authenticating with Active Directory before being routed to E-Business, but Doc ID 1375769.1 calls out the Oracle Applications Concepts document says otherwise. Could you let me know if I am headed in the wrong direction of using the shared filesystem for this node too.

Oracle Library Documentation states: Sharing file systems between internal and external application tiers is not supported. This is true even for external application tiers that have reverse proxies in the DMZ.
