Item Cost setup in Master item organisation.

Item Costing, for an requirement I need to store the item unit cost in Oracle master organisation also, this is only required for interface to look at the data and send it to other system.
I understand the cost of an item is at the operational organisation not master. Considering cost of item can vary in individual orgs as there is an element of inter org costing or any other impact etc.
The standard cost @ master org will not have any impact on the transactions so it will be handy to interface those as right cost.
Please advise if any impact on storing the cost of an item in master org.
