statutory adjustment entity setup

Hi,

Could anyone explain me the difference in setting up an entities in Oracle GL R12.1.3 vs setting up an entity for statutory account adjustments in a ledger. What all setups would be affected while setting up an entity for statutory account adjustments in a ledger ?
