Why Oracle is validating the Pricing Date for RS/CR Date modifications

Item is available in the price list till 28-OCT-2017

while changing Schedule ship date as 30-OCT-2017 getting message item is not available in the price list. Not able to change Schedule ship date. Is this standard functionality
