Configure Windows OS Authentication for client PC connection to Oracle 11gR2 DB

edited Oct 16, 2017 5:01AM in Database Administration (MOSC) 6 commentsAnswered

I have been looking at various documents regarding setting up OS Authentication and the majority of them, although not explicitly, appear to focus on being able to connect to the DB with OS authentication ONLY from the same server as the database resides on.  I need to be able to configure an Oracle 11gR2 (11.2.0.4) DB on a Windows server (2012 R2) to allow OS client connections from remote PC clients (Windows 7).  Can anyone point me to a good source of information on getting this set up to work correctly or is it as simple as ignoring the deprecated
