Another release and no 12.2 GI or RDBMS?

It seems that many of us here have been patiently awaiting 12.2 on the ODA, with the promise of "coming soon" since March.  I see that the Oct release is out and still no 12.2.  Must we wait until Dec?

Our organization made the now regrettable decision to host our dev/qa databases on an ODA.  Our production platform has had 12.2 available since early 2017, and although anxious to start developing and working on a migration plan for 12c, the ODA has been holding us back.  Debating now whether to wait until the Dec release, which is not guaranteed to have 12.2 included, or move our software licenses to a different platform.
