Create Install Base Configuration for Internally Owned instances

There is a client requirement for maintaining Parent Child configuration for internally owned instances.

e.g. Client purchases laptops and accessories which are all IB trackable. The requirement is to use IB for tracking Laptop (Parent) , Mouse (Child) , Keyboard (Child) as configuration.

Is there any way in Oracle Install base to achieve this functionality.

PS - For internally owned Instances, IB does not provide the option to Add Child instance.
