Can a user setup to receive email in contract workflow, but not in other workflow notification

Can a user setup to receive email notification in contract workflow, but not in other workflow notification?

I have a user only want to receive email notification that comes from contract workflow, but other workflow (e.g. Project Billing) stays in application notification.  Is there a way to separate by workflow item type?
