is tax calculated for imported AP invoice if CALC_TAX_DURING_IMPORT_FLAG  is set as null?

In AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE table there is the CALC_TAX_DURING_IMPORT_FLAG , when this is set to Y tax is calculated on the imported invoice, when it is set as N it is not calculated. however  we have some interfaces that are not currently populating this field. if the field is null will tax be calculated on the imported invoice?

we are currently testing the new VAT legislation in UAE, so tax has not been previous needed on these transaction
