Error in trace file when starting oracle database

Hello All,

When I attempt to start the oracle database 11g it just hangs at the ALTER DATABASE OPEN stage but I get this error in the trace file:

Error with archive destination 'LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1'

DDE rules only execution for: ORA 312
