Upgrading to R12.2.6 - Procurement Contracts - Contract expert new OKC PL/SQL Rules Engine upgrade f

My organization will be upgrading to R12.2.6 from R12.1.3.  We currently are using the Oracle Configurator Rules Engine for Contract Expert.  With the upgrade to R12.2.6, is it required we upgrade to the new OKC PL/SQL Rules Engine or can we keep the old rules engine?  If we do have to upgrade the contract expert rules engine, will the current POs using the old rules engine keep the answers to each question or will they have to be manually updated for the new engine?
