Merge Order field in F03012 (AIMORD)

We are currently doing some cleanup in the Customer master by LOB (F03012) and there's a field we still don't know what it relates to or how it behaves. It's the AIMORD (Merge orders) field. We see some records with value = blank and some with value = 'N'.

Does anyone know what this field is about?
