Different Unit of measure for purchasing, planning and logistics for an item.

Hi,

we have an item A203

The Planning team want the unit of measure to be inches

While the purchasing team wants it to be Pack of 5

the logistics want it to be dozen.

Is there a way to satisfy all these teams.

How is this achieved in other companies.

As you may know, UOM for an item can be defined only once and it cannot be changed.

The workaround is to define UOM conversions, however it adds more work.

Is there a simpler solution ?
