IP2017 Client Installation - Is Oracle XE Required?

Hi Everyone,

During the installation of Siebel Tools 17.0, I noticed that Oracle XE got installed and started running, even though I did not specify a Local or Sample option.  I checked Bookshelf and sure enough it reads: "Oracle Database XE is always installed for Siebel Mobile Web Client and Siebel Tools, for a new or migration installation."

With IP2017 and Workspaces all work will be done through the Server connection, and we do not need Sample on the Developer workstations.  Connectivity to the database should be covered by the database client, so I am struggling to justify this process' existence.
