IP17 HTTPS and HTTP

We are soon upgrading to IP17. Our application is on IP13 and is HTTP.

1. When we upgrade, I believe, by default Siebel enables HTTPS on IP17 and we disable it by following "Disabling HTTPS" section in Secur.pdf. I don't see any way to bypass the truststore and keystore options are they're mandatory to proceed..

2. If we would like to retain HTTPS, should our interfacing applications change to HTTPS ?

           I believe no, as Inbound web services can still happen via HTTP.

3. If Item 2 is not possible by default, then setting following params on the EAI Obj Mgr will disable HTTPS for Inbound integration ?
