Recreating Warranty Contract for item already shipped to the customer via a Sales Order -- queries

Hi All,

I have checked community discussion (Recreating Warranty Contract for item already shipped to the customer via a Sales Order) and it worked for our case as well. After updating creation_date/effectivity_date in BOM tables to a previous value and chaging IB instance status, warranty generated for the serial.

However, we have few queries for this --

1. What are limitation for Effective date in the BOM? Can we use any previous date (befor ship date of serila) eg. 1.Jan.2000?

2. What will be happened if there is active Service Contract?

3. What will be happened if there is open Service Request?
