E1: ASN for Drop Ships

The white paper for ASN's- EDI Outbound 856/ASN's may be created for direct ship orders. They do not have to be ship or pack confirmed to create an ASN but need to have a heirarchal configuration for customer set up for DOCO and not shipment.

What if the same customer receives drop ships and standard shipments?

Should any customer's that receive drop ships be treated this way?

Does a Transportation shipment number need to be created for the drop ship order to have an ASN?
