Journal Approval Process

Hello everyone,

We are trying to implement Journal Approval process in our company but our business doesn't like the idea that it move through your organization's approval hierarchy. According to the business requirement, preparer should have this option available to choose any approver they want for their journal approval. Please let me know if that's possible by using standard journal approval process? If not, then what other options are available to fulfill this requirement? Thanks
