When an event contains line group, after posting xml file is not created. Is there any limitaion?

An event having lines and line group included. The event is setup with "Allow xml Download" checked. After posting only pdf file is generated not xml. When the line group is removed it created xml file. Is it working as delivered or there is some issue?
