Intercompany Accounts in HFM

Hi

Please advise whether an Income Statement Account can have Intercompany Transaction with a BalanceSheet Account and they both eliminate and Plug to a Balance Sheet Account?Currently two  Balance Sheet Accounts have Intercompany  transactions  and eliminate to a Plug which is a BalanceSheet Account.However we are going to discontinue using one of those Balance Sheet Account and start using an Income Statement account instead of that.

I tested this in HFM and technically it is working.However I would like to hear whether doing this is meaningful from functional  or Accounting perspective.Also please advice if there will be any data impact I should be consider
