Unable to use driver domain virtual machines in 12.1.2.12.0
Driver domain virtual machines are unable to access vdisk after upgrading to Oracle Database Appliance 12.1.2.12.0.
Using driver domain functionality results in the following error in version 12.1.2.12:
end_request: I/O error, dev xvdb, sector 0 __ratelimit: 2 callbacks suppressed Buffer I/O error on device xvdb, logical block 0
The issue is the result of a check for minimum IO block size for loopback devices that was added in UEK kernel 4.1.12-94.3.9.el6uek.x86_64.
Hardware Models
Oracle Database Appliance X6-2-HA, X5-2, X4-2, X3-2, and V1 with a virtualized platform that use driver domain virtual machines.
