Tax Currency on a Tax - What does it actually impact?

I have read in the Tax User guide for EbTax that Tax Currency should be the currency that you pay the tax authorities in.  But does this impact any specific reports or accounting?

For instance,  We have numerous OU's in one country.  I want to set them up so they can all use the same tax regime to rate flow for ease of maintenance when there is  % change.  But one OU has a functional ledger currency of USD and one OU has EUR for example.

The OU that is in USD also has some invoices in the SEK (Sweden) currency.
