RFQ Required for Stocked Inventory Item

Good morning,

I wanted to run something by Oracle Community before I log an SR. I encountered the following scenario and it does not seem logical to me, so looking for any input. I did not find this level of specificity in PeopleBooks.

Regarding the RFQ Required flag on an Inventory item (active in IN BU, with quantity on hand), if a requisition is entered that is destined for Inventory, the req is not being picked up by Auto-sourcing due to the RFQ Required flag. Therefore, it never builds demand and never gets fulfilled. The key here to me is that the req is destined for inventory. Stock is on the shelf, no PO or supplier is involved at this point, so why would auto-sourcing look at that RFQ Required flag?
