Thanks to Sebastian, Billy and others for their discussion on X5-2 performance which helped clarify the re-introduction of     oakcli create databases   using ASM

Creating a Database in Oracle ASM

You can create a database called sales4 in Oracle 12c database in Oracle ASM:

oakcli create database -db sales4 -version 12.1.0.2 -storage asm
