Developer Access to Oracle AMS for EBS Migrations
Hi All,
I have been a Developer for 10+ Yrs, my best experience with Oracle migrations was with Kintana. (Now HP PPM).
Kintana: While using Kintana as a Developer we had access to Clearcase (Version Control System) and we were able to perform migrations to first two instances during the Development life cycle. Beyond which we would need the Sys-Admins/DBA's to perform migrations.
This way we had better control over the Kintana Package we create and test the migration. I can be sure there would be very less chance of a migration to fail.
Oracle AMS: My current work place uses Oracle AMS for EBS migrations. It is assumed to be the best tool and the best part it is free. Developers are asked to present Implementation instructions in word documents (in a tabular form) which the DBA can copy paste into oracle AMS and perform migrations. So far all good. But
