Consolidating a Shipment from two different order types

We have two sales order types for the same item:

Order type S1 for handling/shipping  the item in UOM-Eaches

Order type S2 for handling/shipping the item in UOM- Cartons

Order type S1 has Shipment number SHPN1

Order type S2 has Shipment number SHPN2

My question now is:

For the same customer sold to and ship to, can we consolidate the order type S1 lines  having SHPN1 on to the shipment number SHPN2?

I mean is it possible to combine the lines of two different sales order types onto a single shipment? I tried to do this Demo environment and it allowed me to consolidate the shipment.
