Firmware update for T5140 - no fallback option?
This weekend I am upgrading my T5140 from version 7.4.0.d 2011/08/10 to version 7.4.11 2017/05/04. I asked Oracle support if there was a way to back it out if it failed and they said no. I think they indicated I would have to reinstall the old firmware using the same procedure - does that sound correct?
The server has Solaris 10 and a vm running Solaris 9. This is because the application on the vm only runs on Solaris 9 and T5140 do not support Solaris 9. I am worried about disaster recovery for the vm - does restoring the zfs for the vm recover this sytem? It appears the previous admin used zfs and zpools for everything and used up all disk space so I can't mirror the root zpool. Here is the configuration:
