JDE PAR file restore & OMW promotion difference

Hello,

I would like to know the difference in PAR file restore & promotion for any JDE application?

I know, If I want to restore a PAR file(APPL_P556110B.par) it will impact only that object, but I am not confirm if OMW promotion will only promote the application or it touches/takes anything else aswell during the promotion
