SQL in Personalizations

I have attached the official documentation for Personalizations in R12.

I am trying to use SQL statements for some validation following the instructions provided but even if I use the sample SQL as is, I get a ORA-00936: missing expression error.

Anyone know how to use SQL in personalizations?
