Is it mandatory to set the profile option 'Service: Inventory Validation Organization'

Hi Team,

Is it mandatory to set the profile option 'Service: Inventory Validation Organization' at responsibility level.

Our customer is executing repairs for two orgs from same responsibility. If we set this profile option to org 'A', we are able to pull items of only Org 'A' on repair estimates.

If we don't set this profile option, I am able to pull items on repair estimates irrespective of orgs. Please let me know the impacts if we don't set this profile option.
