I have a bi publisher excel template. Works great through excel but no data is shown when I run thr

We are on version 12.1.3 of bi publisher and EBS.  We recently installed a change to allow the excel templates to be selected when setting up the Excel template.  I defined the excel template loaded the sample xml and it shows properly when previewing in excel.  But when I bring it into the application it displays the headers but never displays any data.
