Patching Oracle 12.2.0.1 database

So this is our environment, many 11.2.0.4 databases, and handful of 12.1.0.1 databases, EM12c/oms/agents all running 12.1.0.5. 

Based on discussions with management, it was decided that we would begin the process of upgrading all our databases to 12.2.0.1.  So I installed 12.2.0.1 to a test server, Linux x86-64 btw, and upgraded a test database fm 12.1.0.1 to 12.2.0.1.  This all went well, successful upgrade.  So now in cloud control I am showing that this database and server needs to be patched, specifically #26518812, so I put together a patch plan and during the validation step received the following error:

Targets "borxstar" are of version "12.2.0.1.0". Patching is not supported on this version, it is supported from "10.1.0.0.0" to "12.1.9.9" only".
