MRP - Over Planning with Past Due Supply

Hello,

Recently we've uncovered a situation where we over planned an item with surplus according to Supply & Demand; however, MRP did not suggest cancellation messages against open work orders because they are already past due (i.e. Planned Effective Date before Forecast Consumption Period).  Instead of Cancel messages, we only received Past Due warnings on these work orders.

This brings to the question - is there a way we could configure MRP to perform the following:

  • Ignore any forecast demand that is past due (I believe with 'Forecast Consumption Periods' planning fence rule, this is already in place)
  • Also include in MRP calculations firm sales order demand that is past due (again, I believe this is already in place with 'Forecast Consumption Periods' planning fence rule.  However, I am not 100% sure...)

Howdy, Stranger!
