Transfer Order Losing Price

I wanted to ask this question before opening an SR to see if anyone has run into this before.

We have inter-branch transfer orders where we're losing the item price in some cases.  We create an inter-branch transfer order for a specific pick date and quantity and save it.  We later modify the order and change the pick date or quantity and save it.  The order gets fulfilled a couple of months later around the time of the new pick date for a quantity that is less than the quantity on the order causing the line to split.  When this happens, both the original and the new (split) line lose the unit price (UPRC).
