can you advise on concerns for Averify.

My Present Application environment redhat linux java 7 & Production db with 11.2.0.4.0. So i was Running Averify 1.7.6.0

1) Should we need to run always latest Averify version(as of now 1.7.8.1).

2) Can we run LATEST averify to connect to DB(prod/dev..) from my windows local machine(my pc) with java 8 from my machine and Production db with 11.2.0.4.0..
