Are there any benefits or downsides to use Cache Health Monitor when the application is NOT a cluste

We are using Cache Health Monitor and we only have one application tier, its not a clustered environment. My questions are: is there any benefits to using Cache Health Monitor not in a clustered environment? And, is there a downside to using Cache Health Monitor not in a clustered environment (e.g. causes synchronizing issues between the database and the application)?
