11.2 Installation and Upgrade from scratch

Hi

I am planning to perform a new installation of the database 11.2.0.4 with ASM on a virtual machine with Oracle Linux...

Should I install first 11.2.0.1 software and then the upgrade in different ORACLE_HOME and different GRID_HOME???

Or could they be done in the same HOME at the same time?

I read in a page that I could uncompress the software and the patch in the same directory and then perform the installation and automatically would be installed the software together with the upgrade, is that true?
