Can we stop journal postings across balancing segment values?

Hi Colleagues,

We are running e-Business Suite 12.1.3. We have a single Ledger with multiple Balancing Segments (Company Code).

I have a requirement to add a new company code - but we must enforce a control that obliges users to post both debits and credits to this new Company Code (no intra-company postings allowed).

So if a user uses the new Company Code in a journal, then the offset journal line must be posted to the same company code.

Does anyone have experience of this? Can you suggest if I can introduce this control via Cross Validation Rules/Security Rules, etc?
