System changes the Promised Delivery date (preference not setup)

We encountered a strange phenomenon which I would like to check with you all, if such an issue occurred to you. We are on JDE v9.1 on web client.

During sales order entry, user enters the basic info and then goes to detail line, she tries to update "Promised Ship" and then proceeds to update "Promised Delivery". Then we notice that system automatically defaults the "Promised Delivery" to follow the value in "Promised Ship". It is very strange, but when user goes back to change the "Promised Delivery" the system again adjusts the date to follow "Promised Ship". We really could not understand why this is happening.
